Should you take a statin drug?

Should you take a statin drug?  That is a question that you have to answer for yourself. Here is some information you should consider.  Virtually every cell in the body has a membrane around it containing cholesterol.  Also, hormones are made from cholesterol. So, is it the best approach to reducing cardiovascular risk to block the body's formation of cholesterol with HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, AKA statins.  Is there one conclusive, properly conducted study that proves that it lowers your risk?

Side effects of statins include: muscle problems, cognitive problems, pain or numbness in the extremities, blood glucose elevated.  Research has shown that statins damage the mitochondria(the power house of the cell) .  This is where you get your energy from.  It is a key factor.  Tired?

There are other methods involving proper diet and exercise that actually do work well
